Ready, Set, RECYCLE!
RecycleMania 2012: February 5 - March 31
RecycleMania is a friendly competition among college and university recycling programs across North America and Canada to see which school can reduce the most waste, increase the most recycling and raise awareness of conservation issues across its campus. The 2012 competition runs for 8 weeks - February 5 through March 31.
This is NKU’s fourth year to participate in RecycleMania. To encourage participation, NKU is staging its own competition to see which NKU student organization is the greenest on campus. All NKU student organizations are eligible to compete and see which one can recycle the most glass and plastic bottles and aluminum cans. During each of the first 6 weeks of competition, 4 groups will compete against one other. Results will be posted daily and a winner will declared at the end of each week.
During the 7th and 8th week, the weekly winners will compete against each other to which is the greenest student organization on campus. A Grand Trophy and other prizes will be presented to the winning group.
Smaller student organizations may join together to compete. Special bonus points will be awarded to teams that create and submit appropriate YouTube videos documenting their recycling efforts.
